About Redeemer Round Rock

Vision & Strategy

Redeemer is a gospel-centered missional family learning and living the way of Jesus in the suburbs of Austin. We desire to be a church that is centered on the gospel, who lives this out in community as we follow Jesus together on mission. We are not a church that has everything figured out, but we would welcome you to join us as we seek to learn and live the way of Jesus here in the suburbs. We pray that by God's grace we might multiply this vision as we see new missional communities started throughout our city and new gospel-centered churches planted throughout our region.

Structure

Our basic structure is intentionally simple. We GATHER to reorient our worship around Jesus, and we SCATTER to display the light of the gospel throughout our city as we follow Jesus together. Rather than add tons of Christian programming to your life we want to help you see how the gospel transforms the everyday rhythms of your life.

WHEN WE GATHER, OUR WORSHIP INVOLVES...

1) Biblical & Christ-Centered Preaching – Preaching is an important part of our Gatherings. We typically work through a book of the bible and consider it within the context of the larger story of God. From time to time we will teach through key biblical themes as they address specific aspects of following Jesus.

2) Thoughtful Liturgical Worship – We want to have our Gatherings be shaped by the gospel story as much as possible. This means each week we have a Call to Worship – Confession or Lament – Assurance – Benediction, all working together to form us in the biblical story of Creation – Fall – Redemption – Restoration. Our musicians play thoughtful, Christ-centered music, not as a performance but as an act of focusing our attention on God. We also loosely follow the traditional church calendar which helps us remember important Christian themes such as Pentecost, Trinity, Advent, and Easter.

3) Taking Communion Together – Almost every week we set aside time in our gathering to take the Lord's supper together. We do this as a celebration of Christ's body broken for us and his blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins. We take communion in response to God's word. We welcome all baptized believers to go and take, whether it’s alone, with your family, or with others in the church.

4) Generous Giving – We worship a generous God who has entrusted us with resources to steward for his purposes. An important part of worship is our response of giving. At our gatherings we have giving boxes at the back of our worship gathering. We encourage giving to be cheerful and sacrificial. The generous giving of God's people is needed to fund the ministry of our local church, help those in need, and enable us to help plant churches both locally and globally.

WHEN WE SCATTER, OUR WORSHIP INVOLVES …

1) Life In Community – The primary place we are committed to sharing life together is in our missional communities. Missional communities are small groups where we live out our gospel identity in the everyday rhythms of life. Missional communities will regularly share meals, study the scriptures, share honestly about our struggles, speak the truth in love, serve one another and those in need, and share the good news of Jesus with those God has placed in their lives.

2) Missional Living – Missional living means that we not only tell people about Jesus but live among them in a way that can only be explained by the gospel. We want create space in our lives to love our neighbors, friends, and coworkers in a way that displays the love of Jesus. Our missional communities are not just small groups that huddle up to talk about the bible, but a people who see themselves as missionaries sent wherever they are by the Spirit. This is not an activity to lure people into our church, but a genuine desire to love our neighbors as we have been loved.

3) Serving our City – We believe God has placed us here in Round Rock to be a blessing to our city. We are committed to serving the people of our city as a tangible display of God's love. Each of our missional communities has areas they serve throughout the city and then as a wider church we have desire to focus our serving in three key areas; Foster Care, Creative Arts, and supporting Young Life and Young Lives, which provide outreach to students and support to teen mothers.
