About OneLife Church

Our multiplication efforts have been born out of a change in what mattered most to us from when we first started. When we first began, we were planting a church to make disciples but quickly realized this is a difficult task and, quite frankly, not seen in Scripture. We realized we needed to reverse that thinking and first multiply disciples which would then naturally lead to the reproduction of churches as the result. We shifted our focus to first seeing reproduction happen on an individual level by helping people discover how they can multiply their faith wherever they live, work, and play. As this developed and grew, we were then able to gather pockets of new disciples and multipliers to be the launch teams of new churches and campuses. This is not as fast as a “franchise” model, but well worth the wait as the new works are birthed with multiplication in their DNA! Now we have hundreds of individuals out living on mission and reproducing the gospel, regardless of their “position” or “title” within the structure and institution of a church organization, while many others do become leaders of new churches and campuses. Additionally, we have worked hard to be involved in multiplication beyond our own church’s efforts and have seen God move in those ways as well.

In 2011, OneLife was the flagship church of a new church planting network called the Ignite Church Network. Since its inception in 2011, Ignite has grown to more than 100 new churches across the East Coast and provides training and ongoing coaching to pastors, planters, and their teams based around the multiplication model briefly described above. We have also been able to take this to an international level by partnering with AVI Network in Dominican Republic and Panama Pastors Network in Panama to provide church multiplication training in Latin America. In June 2020, OneLife will also send out its first international missionaries as a family moves to Zimbabwe to lead a multiplying network of churches there.

Our dream is to see a new church or campus within 15 minutes of every person in Knox County and East Tennessee. This begins as individual people change what they care about to be living on mission where they live, work, and play. As the gospel multiplies through their lives, we will gather those pockets of new believers and multipliers to become new faith communities.

OUR VISION

To see people discover Jesus and how their one life can make a difference.

OUR STRATEGY

OneLife Church will aggressively utilize creative methodologies in an attempt to reach people who are far from God and show them how He intends for their one life to make a difference. Rather than run from culture we have chosen to harness it to connect with people and show them God’s timeless truths. Although our approach is anything but traditional, we believe in and maintain a conservative theological position.

OUR BELIEFS

In a sentence, we believe that the Bible is the perfect, timeless Word of God and that everything in it is truth. Central to that is Jesus Christ who is the only way to God and came to give us a “better life than we ever dreamed” (John 10:10). While there are certain issues that can be debated, there are some beliefs that are essential.
