Oaks Church

For us, church planting started with the heart to “give our shoulders” to young leaders. It began when former pastor Scott Wilson saw the grace of God on one of his staff members who felt led to start a church. He simply wanted to do everything he could to help him.

After that happened, another staff couple felt a similar call and so we helped them. And then another. After planting three in a row from our staff, we began to see with new eyes and were constantly watching for people who felt called to start a new church that we could come alongside.

The way we see it, spiritual fathers and mothers say “Let’s do it” rather than “Go do it” to those desiring to plant a church. Over the last 10 years, God has enabled us to be a part of the journey of over 20 church planter couples. We aren’t experts in the mechanics of church planting, we simply want to be a family to those who are stepping out in faith and to support them throughout the journey.

We want to bring our God-given strengths and gifts to the table to meet the ongoing needs of church planters after their launch, partnering with networks and churches, to see hundreds (if not thousands) of churches planted through the multiplication of spiritual fathers and mothers.
