About New Hope Oahu
New Hope Oʻahu exists to love God, love people, and change the world.
OUR MISSION
We exist to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that turns non-Christians into converts (Evangelism), converts into disciples (Edification), and disciples into mature, fruitful leaders (Equipping), who will in turn go into the world and reach others for Christ (Extension).
The heart behind this mission statement is derived from what is known as “The Great Commission.”
“Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'" (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our heart is to follow Jesus’ instructions and to reach every person we can, not to increase our numbers, but rather so that every single person can be transformed by Christ’s indescribable love, discover their God-given potential, and experience life at its best.
OUR PURPOSE
To present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that turns non-Christians into converts, converts into disciples, and disciples into mature, fruitful leaders who will in turn go into the world and reach others for Christ. At New Hope, we believe that fulfilling this purpose statement is dependent on four different areas of spiritual growth.
OUR LIFE VERSE
“ 'For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.' ” (Jeremiah 29:11)
We believe these words to still be true today—God has a plan for your life, and hope is alive. Our purpose is love. Our mission is people. Our cause is Christ.
