About Maryland Community Church
Maryland Community Church is a community of people following Christ and serving in his cause. This is way more than just a catchy slogan we like to throw around. It’s who we are.
Where did this identity statement come from? The short answer: John 17:20-26. A slightly longer answer: In John 17 we see a close look at Jesus’ prayer to the Father, and from that we get a good picture of his heart. He says, “… that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” which we state as COMMUNITY. He goes on to add, “I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory …” Following CHRIST is the only way. Jesus finally prays that “… I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them,” which we believe is the CAUSE of Christ.
