About Harbor Churches
Harbor Churches One Mission exists to empower local and global gospel-centered ministries and projects that help people find their way back to God.
Ultimately, we will know that we are being successful when we can echo the words of Jesus describing his own ministry in Luke 7:22–23, “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
We embrace a missional theological framework in all that we do. This means that we assume God’s presence and work through the Holy Spirit and God’s people in places where we seek to make a gospel impact prior to our involvement.
We believe in the inherent dignity of all people, and seek to maintain the dignity of those we serve. This means that we treat people as persons created in God’s image, and not as objects or projects to be fixed.
We embrace appreciative inquiry and believe that solutions to many challenges can be found within the communities facing them. Therefore, we seek to entrust decision-making authority to indigenous leaders as frequently as possible.
