About Bridgewater Church

At Bridgewater we strive to make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.

5 Core Values

EVERYONE HAS A NEXT STEP.

Following Jesus means changing to be more like Him. Jesus will always be changing something in us, around us, or through us. Your next step may include:

  • Coming to a worship service regularly.
  • Attending Starting Point.
  • Accepting Jesus as your Savior.
  • Serving in a ministry.
  • Joining a small group.
  • Attending the Discovery Class.
  • Getting baptized.
  • Becoming a member.
  • Giving financially.
  • Reading the Bible & praying daily.

LIFE IS BETTER CONNECTED.

God did not call you to do life alone. Christianity is a team sport. You need people around you who will encourage you through the lows and celebrate the highs of life (Hebrews 10:24-25). In order to grow spiritually, you must have people who have permission to step into your life and have hard conversations. So keep attending church, get connected to a small group and see God do something great in your life.

SAVED PEOPLE SERVE PEOPLE.

When you follow Jesus, serving will come naturally because God has gifted called, equipped and empowered you to serve Him inside and outside the church. We don’t get a gold star for sitting in a chair each week; God has called us to do so much more. God wants us to get our hands dirty serving others just like Jesus got His hands dirty serving us.

FOUND PEOPLE FIND PEOPLE.

It is impossible to follow Jesus and not be concerned about people far from Jesus (Luke 15; 19:10). God put you where you are (family, work, neighborhood, school, etc.) because God wants to use you to make much of His Son Jesus. We must pray for those far from Jesus, invest in relationships with them, and then invite them to church or whatever their next step is toward Jesus. Pray. Invest. Invite.

WE GIVE BECAUSE HE GAVE.

We follow the most generous person in history. Jesus spent His life serving and giving to others and then ended His life in the greatest act of generosity possible. On the cross, He gave sacrificially, He gave generously, and He gave everything. What Jesus did on the cross should make us grateful, and our gratitude should lead us to outrageous generosity.
